Police arrest 2 in Haywood County, seize electronics used to steal card information
PRESS RELEASE FROM THE WEST TENNESSEE DRUG TASK FORCE:
HAYWOOD COUNTY, Tenn. — On February 4, 2025, Agents with the interstate Criminal Interdiction Unit out of the 30th District were patrolling Interstate 40 in Haywood County.

Agents conducted a traffic stop on a pickup truck for a violation. While speaking with the driver, the alert Agent noticed abnormalities in the vehicle that led the Agent to believe further criminal activity was occurring.
A search of the vehicle yielded multiple electronics used to steal credit card information from gas pumps and then re-encode the stolen information onto other cards.
The stolen card information was then being used to fill a large, non-factory fuel tank in the bed of the truck with stolen diesel fuel. Multiple re-encoded cards were seized as well. Two men were arrested and transported to the Haywood County Jail where they remain awaiting bond.
This case is being prosecuted by The Office of the District Attorney General, 28th Judicial District of Frederick Agee.
