Aldrich William “Billy” Dobbs, Jr., age 79, resident of Whiteville, Tennessee and husband
of Dorothy Demilio Dobbs, departed this life Thursday morning, February 6, 2025 at
Bolivar General Hospital in Bolivar, Tennessee.
Aldrich was born May 8, 1945 in Grand Junction, Tennessee, the son of the late Aldrich
William Dobbs, Sr. and Juanita Laverne Sexton Dobbs. He graduated from State
Technical Institute in Memphis, Tennessee with a major in computer information
technology and was employed at Carrier for many years before his retirement.
Following his retirement, Billy enjoyed tinkering with cars and lawn mowers.
Mr. Dobbs was married December 16, 1967 to Dorothy Demilio Dobbs. He was an
outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting and in his younger years, drag racing. He will
be remembered for being a “jack of all trades”.
Mr. Dobbs is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Demilio Dobbs of Whiteville, TN;
his daughter, Dorinda Oliver (John) of Whiteville, TN; two grandsons, Corey Keeling
(Sarah) of Jackson, TN and Alex Keeling (Amber) of Collierville, TN; two great-
granddaughters, Kinsley Keeling of Collierville, TN and Kayleigh Keeling of Collierville,
TN; his aunt, Vera Marie Cooper of Saulsbury, TN; his nephew, Kevin Dobbs of Lamar,
MS; and his niece, Cassie McLean of Senatobia, MS.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jackey Dobbs and
his niece, Kim Dobbs.
A visitation for Mr. Dobbs will be from 11 A.M. to 12 noon Monday, February 17, 2025 at
the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Funeral Services will be at 12 noon
Monday, February 17, 2025 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Interment
will follow in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be John Oliver, Corey Keeling, Alex Keeling,
Lou Stackley, Kenneth Hoskins and Tony German. Honorary pallbearers will be Louis
Stackley, Harold Yount and Chris McClean.
