JCT girls middle school basketball team is heading to state tournament
How about we start things off with some
girls’ middle school basketball and for that we have to
take things to Jackson Career Technology. Because they have
made history being the first Jackson Madison county middle school to
qualify for the TMSAA state tournament. Now the unique part about this
is that it was not an overnight success. Just six years ago head coach Erica Oliver
took over and they had 0 wins in the first two seasons. The team has 21 wins
through the regular season.
But ,she started to build the foundation with having some returning six graders
who have gone on to play at schools like JCM and South Side. We were able to catch
up with coach Oliver earlier today and she talked about the growth of the team and
