Lelia Feathers

Lelia Virginia Glover Feathers, age 86, resident of Moscow, Tennessee and wife of the
late Olton Lee Feathers, departed this life Monday morning, February 17, 2025 at her
home.
Lelia was born February 28, 1938 in Somerville, Tennessee, the daughter of the late
Robert Glover and Bertha Perry Glover. She graduated from Memphis Technical High
School and was married September 1, 1951 to Olton Lee Feathers who preceded her in
death on June 15, 2009. Lelia was employed at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Kirby
Pines Nursing Home in Memphis and then private duty nursing before her retirement in
2020.
Mrs. Feathers was a member of Elliston Baptist Church in Memphis and most recently
at Morris Memorial Baptist Church in Moscow. She loved baking and cooking and will be
remembered for making her famous biscuits and for being the “pie lady”.
Mrs. Feathers is survived by four daughters, Ann Smith (Charles) of Williston, TN,
Pamela Johns of Moscow, TN, Karen White of Moscow, TN and Teresa Holloway (Earl)
of Chillicothe, OH; two sisters, Beverly McClure of Somerville, TN and Nannie Michael
of Booneville, MS; her brother, Billy Glover of Somerville, TN; eleven grandchildren,
Dwayne Smith, Brian Smith, Dana Rapp, Sharon Jones, Jeremy James, Mitchell
Sowell, Mandy West, Michelle Jackson, Amber Matthews, Earl Holloway III and Kae-
Len Stamm; thirty-five great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter,
Jackie James; her grandson, Kevin Smith; and six siblings.
A visitation for Mrs. Feathers will be from 12 noon until 2 P.M. Wednesday, February 26,
2025 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Funeral Services will be at 2 P.M.
Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with
Bro. Mark Duggin, pastor of Morris Memorial Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will
follow in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Dwayne Smith, Brian Smith and Mitchell
Sowell. Honorary pallbearers will include Bubba Feathers.
