West Tennessee Healthcare works to expand care with mobile clinic
ALAMO, Tenn. — Routine health visits have become more accessible as West Tennessee Healthcare is making a difference with a mobile satellite clinic for the region.
The satellite clinic powered by West Tennessee Healthcare Pathways is an integrated mobile health clinic specializing in routine primary care, screenings and examinations, psychiatric and mental health treatment, substance use treatment, peer services, and care coordination.
“On the mobile clinic, we see people that probably not get to go to the doctor because it’s too far to travel or they don’t have the finances and so we are right there in their community,” said Lisa Brown, peer recovery counselor.
Both children and adults, uninsured or underinsured, are able to receive excellent care they need in their very own communities free of charge with no copays or insurance required.
“It’s through a grant called Project Rural Recovery and they have two of these mobile clinic’s in East Tennessee, one in middle, and we’re the first in West Tennessee and we do see people free of charge,” said Brown.
You can visit them from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. all the week in 5 different counties throughout the West Tennessee region.
“Monday we’re in Alamo, Tuesday we’re in Ripley, Wednesday we’re in bolivar, Thursday we’re in Brownsville and Friday we’re in Somerville,” said Brown.
The satellite clinic accepts walk in’s and scheduled appointments. The satellite clinic serves Crockett, Fayette, Hardeman, Haywood, and Lauderdale counties.
