Bobby Gene Stallings, age 93, resident of Oakland, Tennessee and
husband of JoAnn Stallings, departed this life Friday, February 21, 2025 at
his home.
Bobby was born July 26, 1931 in Colt, Arkansas, the son of the late Shelly
Stallings and Mary Luker Stallings. He proudly served his country in the
United States Air Force where he served in the Korean Conflict and
Vietnam. He retired after 24 years of service, retiring as a Master Sergeant.
Bobby loved the military, his country his flag, and talking about his time in
the military.
Bobby was married January 3, 1998 to the love of his life, JoAnn Stallings.
and was most recently a member of Hickory Withe Baptist Church. He was
employed in the maintenance department at the hospital in Wiregrass for
13 years before his retirement. He then bought a farm in Sampson,
Alabama where he raised cattle and peanuts. Bobby and JoAnn bought a
cabin and then traveled in a motorhome and went on 10 cruises together.
When he survived cancer, they bought a house in Oakland, where she took
care of him while he was sick until his last breath.
Mr. Stallings is survived by his wife of 27 years, JoAnn Stallings; two sons,
Robby Stallings of Yakima, WA and Mark Stallings of Snellville, GA; his
step-daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Grimes; four sisters, Rachell Medrith,
Elaine Meece, Betty Kuch and Lois Smith; and four grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepson, Larry
Grimes; his stepmother, Pauline Stallings; his sister, Patricia Staten; and
two brothers, Hugh Stallings and Morris Stallings.
A visitation for Mr. Stallings will be from 10:30 to 11:30 A.M. Friday,
February 28, 2025 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland.
Funeral Services will be at 11:30 A.M. Friday, February 28, 2025 at the
Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Dave Biter officiating.
Interment will follow in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on
Highway 64.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Jeremy Jones, Pat
Patterson, Glenn Marbry, Mark Evans, Benjamin Palazzolo and David
Palazzolo.
