Suspect wanted in multiple counties arrested after gas station robbery

Arrest of Aggravated Robbery Suspect
On the date of February 18th, 2025, Adamsville Police Department Officer Vanjur was proactively patrolling in the City of Adamsville when he encountered an individual behaving suspiciously inside of a vehicle parked in the parking lot of a local business.
Officer Vanjur made contact with the workers inside of the business and verified that the individual was not conducting business there and was advised the vehicle was suspiciously parked in their lot for a prolonged period of time without anyone coming into the business.
Officer Vanjur made contact with an individual inside of the vehicle and was provided a false identification by the individual. The individual was successfully identified a short time later at the scene by Detective Kellum as Mr. Jimmy Edward Johnson Jr., 32, of Bethel Springs, TN.
It was determined that Mr. Johnson had numerous active warrants for his arrest from multiple counties, including McNairy County.
Mr. Johnson was taken into custody and transported to McNairy County Jail. After arriving at the jail, Adamsville Police Department was contacted by the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office advising that Mr. Johnson was a suspect in a suspected armed robbery that had occurred at a gas station in Henderson County, TN approximately one to two hours prior to his arrest by APD.
In connection with that event, Mr. Johnson has been charged in Henderson County, TN with Aggravated Robbery.
