Multi-vehicle crash brings traffic to standstill on Interstate 40
UPDATE (03-05-25): According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, two people were confirmed to have received minor injuries from this accident. No fatalities were reported.
JACKSON, Tenn. — A multi-vehicle crash was reported around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
The wreck occurred in the westbound lane on Interstate 40 in Jackson — near mile marker 80.
At least four vehicles, including two semi trucks, were damaged in the collision. Traffic backed up as the westbound lane was temporarily closed while crews worked the scene.
Multiple fire trucks, state troopers, hazmat and an ambulance could be seen at the site. Details on any possible injuries have not been confirmed at this time.
