Wind Chill of 20° Tonight, Warmer Finish to the Work Week!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
It has been a cold, cloudy and windy day in West Tennessee. Do not expect any improvements tonight. It is actually going to get colder falling below freezing and the wind chill will be around 20° around sunrise on Thursday. We will warm up a bit to wrap up the work week but the next front is going to come by Friday night. There is also a nice warm up coming next week, but it could come at the expense of some storms. Catch all the details in this busy forecast coming up

THIS WEEK:
Tuesday night lows will fell down to the mid 40s but highs on Wednesday only reached the mid to upper 40s and the temperatures sat around 40° most of the day. On top of the cold, those winds are really going to bite on Wednesday as well making it feel much cooler than it actually was. We will drop down to around 30° Wednesday night and that is when the winds will begin to weaken some. The clouds will also break up some Wednesday night and we should see plenty of sunshine on Thursday. The wind chill will be around 20° by the time the sun comes up on Thursday.

Thursday will start out chilly below freezing but even with the northwest winds, highs should make it a little above 50°. We will be dry on Thursday and Thursday night lows will fall down to around 40°. The winds will return to the southwest late overnight Thursday into the day on Friday. The next disturbance will look to move through late in the day on Friday. The timing and strength of that system is still being determined but as of now, it does not look to pack anywhere near the punch of Tuesday’s system. Those southwest winds will warm us up nicely on Friday into the mid 60s and Friday night lows will drop down to the low 40s. The next front should move through Friday night cooling things down a bit for the weekend.

THE WEEKEND:
The weekend will be a little cool across West Tennessee with highs in the mid 50s on Saturday before warming back up to around 70° on Sunday. There will be a few shower chances early in the day on Saturday and depending how far south the cold front gets before it stalls out will determine how long those showers will be sticking around for during the day and if they will move back through on Sunday or not. Right now, we are expecting a dry day on Sunday, but we should know more as the week goes on. Saturday night lows will fall down to the mid 30s and Sunday night lows will only fall to the mid 40s. The reason it will be warmer Sunday night will be due to the change in the wind direction. Most of the weekend the winds will come out of the north, but sometime late Sunday night the winds will shift back to the southwest making for a warm start to next week as well!

Next week will warm up nicely reaching up to around 70° on Monday. The winds will come out of the west on Monday but back to the southwest on Tuesday and Wednesday warming us back up to the mid 70s. The week will start out sunny but clouds will move back in slowly late Tuesday into Wednesday. The next chance for showers and storms will be here on Wednesday, but as of now, the severe weather threat appears to be low but it is something we will need to monitor over the weekend as the forecast becomes more clear.
