Annual ‘Denim and Pearls’ fundraiser returning to Jackson
JACKSON, Tenn. — Mark your calendars! This year, WRAP is preparing to celebrate 50 years of service at their 12th annual “Denim and Pearls” event on March 29.
Hosted at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson, the event will feature dinner and dancing, a silent auction and live entertainment. There’ll also be a butterfly release. Funds raised go to WRAP which stands for Wo/men’s Resource and Rape Assistance Program.
WRAP serves 20 counties across West Tennessee.
“WRAP was actually founded in 1975 as a volunteer-led rape crisis hotline then we added in helping survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence,” said Jennifer Gilley, co-chair for 12th annual Denim and Pearls.
In 2023, WRAP was awarded a contract to be the West Tennessee provider of the relative caregiver program, expanding its services to serve children and their families.
