Near 80 Wednesday & Friday, Thunderstorms on the Way!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
We made it up to around 80° today and will be close to 80° Wednesday and again on Friday. The warm weather though will come at the expense of storms and possible severe weather though. Rain and storm chances start late Wednesday night and stick around on Thursday. Overall our severe threat is low in the middle of the week but the late week and early weekend event looks more concerning. Severe storm chances start Friday night and a second round looks possible Saturday afternoon as well. Catch the latest on each days storm chances and who is most likely to be impacted coming up here.

THIS WEEK:
After making it up to around 80° on Tuesday, the warm up will continue into the middle of the week and we have more chances at hitting the 80° later this week as well. There are also a couple chances for storms and rain showers and even a severe weather threat early in the weekend. But overall, we are looking at a really warm last full week or winter before Spring starts in the middle of next week.

Tuesday morning lows fell down to the low 40s with the clear skies and calm winds. The winds came out of the southwest on Tuesday and it was a bit breezy at times. Those southwest winds warmed us up into the upper 70s though by the afternoon. We also saw plenty of sunshine Tuesday and sunny weather will look to hang around all day on Wednesday as well. Some clouds will move back in Wednesday night though. Tuesday night lows will be nice and fall down to 50° and Wednesday highs will reach the upper 70s to near 80°. Wednesday night will be warm and humid and only fall to the mid to upper 50s into Thursday morning.

The first chance for showers and storms this week will be here on Thursday. As of now, the severe weather threat appears to be low, but a few storms will try to mix in. We could be put under a level 1 (marginal risk) for some areas on Thursday but we will see what the Storm Prediction Center decides to do over the next couple of days before the system shows up. Highs on Thursday will make it up to around 70° but expect a mostly cloudy day with the rain showers. The winds on Thursday will stay out of the southwest. Thursday night lows will only dip to the mid 50s but the showers should move out by the time the sun rises on Friday.

Friday is going to start out quite nice with highs making it up into the low 80s before the clouds and storm chances move in. The winds on Friday will be quite breezy and it will be a humid wind coming out of the southeast tapping into the gulf moisture. Clouds will increase towards the back half of the day and storms will look to move in during the evening with the most likely time to be impacted by storms will be after the sun goes down Friday night. As of storms, the storm prediction has West Tennessee under a level 2/3 on Friday with the greatest concern being near the Mississippi River. The storms will break up into Saturday morning before popping up again during the day on Saturday. Friday night lows will only fall to around 60° under the clouds, showers and thick humidity.

THE WEEKEND:
Storms are expected to linger into early Saturday morning with some of them being strong and probably severe into the overnight hours of early Saturday morning. The storms should clear out for a bit but reemerge into the early afternoon hours on Saturday. The greatest threat for severe weather on Saturday appears to be along the Tennessee river in the afternoon before moving east and becoming stronger Saturday evening. Our storm threat should wrap up by the evening here in West Tennessee on Saturday. We will be dry and cooler on Sunday.

Saturday highs are forecast to reach the low to mid 70s and Saturday night lows will fall down to the mid 40s by Sunday morning as the cold front passes by. Saturday will be a mostly cloudy day with the winds remaining out of the southwest before moving to the northwest into the day on Sunday. There will be some clouds early in the day on Sunday that should try to clear out by Sunday afternoon. Sunday will be cooler with highs reaching up to around 60°. Sunday night will be chilly again with Monday morning lows falling into the upper 30s to kick off next week. We should stay above freezing though for the time being.
