Hardin County road closes due to flooding

HARDIN COUNTY, Tenn. — The Tennessee River has reached flood stage in Hardin County.

Coffee Landing Road is closed as water now covers the roadway.

The Tennessee River in Savannah is at about 371 feet and forecasted to crest this Thursday, March 20 at almost 378 feet.

‘Road closed’ signs have been put out and drivers are encouraged to avoid standing water.

The road could not be underneath it or there could be debris.

“There is alternative routes to get around so please don’t drive through the flooded roadways. It could cause injury to you, you could drown, at a minimum, you’re gonna cause emergency personnel to have to come out and rescue you,” said Larae Smiley-Sliger, Hardin County EMA director.

Smiley-Sliger reminds everyone to turn around, don’t drown.
