West Tennessee State Fair Board announces 2025 plans, thanks community for support
PRESS RELEASE FROM THE WEST TENNESSEE STATE FAIR:
JACKSON, Tenn. — The West Tennessee State Fair has made an announcement regarding its new 2025 fair plans.
“West Tennessee has a long and proud tradition of bringing communities together through the excitement and tradition of the fair. Since 1855, the West Tennessee State Fair has played a vital role in celebrating our region’s agricultural heritage, showcasing local talent, and providing entertainment for families across Madison and surrounding counties.
The West Tennessee State Fair Board of Directors has met in regular session and has diligently sought to secure the same carnival company that has provided rides, games, and concessions for Jackson and West Tennessee for many years. However, due to scheduling conflicts and other issues outside the control of the board, we were unable to secure a carnival for the 2025 season. The Jackson Fairgrounds are booked well in advance, and unfortunately, the available dates for the fair did not align with the schedules of the carnival companies capable of providing the quality fair experience our community has come to expect.
Despite our best efforts, we were unable to secure a viable solution for hosting the fair in Jackson this year. While this was a difficult decision, we are excited to announce our partnership with ChesterCounty. The historic 170th West Tennessee State Fair will be held at the Chester County Fairgrounds in Henderson, Tennessee for the 2025 season! We encourage all of West Tennessee to continue supporting the historic West Tennessee State Fair and invite everyone to attend this year’s event at our new location, in Henderson, October 16th – 25th.
We would also like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to the previous fair vendors for their years of service in bringing joy and entertainment to Jackson and the surrounding communities. We hope this continues in Henderson! Our fair vendors’ dedication has helped uphold the values of tradition, education, and fun that make fairs such an important part of our local culture.
Finally, we extend our sincere appreciation to Madison County, City of Jackson and all West Tennessee for the support shown to the West Tennessee State Fair over the years. Your enthusiasm, participation, and community spirit have been the heart of our fair’s success. We look forward to continuing our mission of hosting the West Tennessee State Fair family and supporting community events throughout the region.
West Tennessee State Fair Board of Directors”
Mayor Scott Conger also issued a statement regarding the change, stating that:
“For nearly 170 years, the West Tennessee State Fair has been a beloved tradition, bringing communities together to celebrate our agricultural heritage, local talent, and family-friendly entertainment. The City of Jackson has always supported the fair by reserving the same three weeks each year at the Jackson Fairgrounds to provide a consistent and reliable home for this event.
However, due to scheduling conflicts with the carnival vendor, an essential part of the fair experience, the West Tennessee State Fair Board was unable to secure the necessary rides, games, and concessions for 2025. This challenge was beyond the control of both the fair board and the City of Jackson. Because of these circumstances, the fair board made the decision to host this year’s fair in Chester County.
While we are disappointed that the fair will not take place in Jackson this year, I appreciate the board’s efforts to ensure that the fair tradition continues. I encourage everyone to support the 170th West Tennessee State Fair in Henderson this October and to celebrate the hard work of the organizers, vendors, and volunteers who make this event possible.
Jackson remains committed to fostering events that bring our community together, and we will continue to support opportunities that enhance the quality of life for our residents.”
