New campaign highlights experiences, missions of National Guard soldiers

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Army National Guard is redefining what it means to serve, with the launch of a new campaign.

The new campaign “Uncommon is Calling” highlights the experiences and missions of National Guard soldiers, and shows how part-time service could provide the opportunity to pursue personal and professional passions.

With more than 150 career paths in fields such as aviation, medical, law enforcement and engineering, National Guard soldiers can pursue an Army career while receiving many benefits, including tuition assistance, home-buying support, and leadership training.

Sergeant Claudia Napier says serving in the Guard has offered her a sense of duty and provided practical benefits that she never thought she was capable of getting.

“I’d really like to share my personal story of how much the Guard has given me,” Napier said. “It’s bought me a home, it’s given me great healthcare. It’s done things in my life that I didn’t think I was capable of doing.”
