North Highland shooting suspects appear in court
JACKSON, Tenn. — There have been new developments regarding a shooting incident that occurred earlier this month in Jackson.
Around 11:17 p.m. on March 8, the Jackson Police Department responded to a report of a shooting on North Highland Avenue. They were alerted via Shotspotter, which indicated that several rounds had been fired.

Shortly after the shooting, two male victims arrived at a local hospital with gunshot wounds. One of the victims was airlifted to Memphis, and the other one was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
When officers arrived on the scene, they observed a suspect vehicle fleeing, ensuing a brief vehicle pursuit. Officers were able to arrest two male suspects and one male juvenile. Multiple firearms were recovered.
Both the Walgreens and Highland Express at the intersection of Campbell Street and North Highland Avenue received bullet damage. Shell casings were also found inside of the Walgreens. Nobody inside of the store was injured.
Five adults and one juvenile were arrested in connection to this shooting incident. The juvenile was charged with four counts of attempted second degree murder, reckless endangerment, possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and evading arrest.
32-year-old Lafrancese Johnson, 33-year-old Courtney Boyland, and 19-year-old Jakobe Shaw were all charged with two counts of attempted second degree murder, reckless endangerment, and two counts of employing a firearm during a dangerous felony.
19-year-old Keir Smith was charged with four counts of attempted second degree murder, reckless endangerment, possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and evading arrest.
20-year-old Destion Harrison was charged with accessory to attempted second degree murder.
Four of these individuals appeared in Jackson City Court Wednesday morning before Judge Blake Anderson.
