Tulip patch now open at Green Acres Farm in Milan

MILAN, Tenn. — A local farm introduces a new addition.

The tulip patch is now open at Green Acres Farm. You can come during season every day from 10 a.m. until sunset, unless otherwise noted on Facebook.

The farm, located in Milan, anticipates the season lasting for 2 to 3 weeks. They will feature 10 different varieties of early, mid and late season tulips. Admission is $5 , and children under 2 get in for free. Self cut tulips are available at$2 per stem. Photography is allowed and encouraged.

The farm will have staging areas available including an old truck, a bicycle with a basket of tulips, a big mirror in the tulips, a swing and other photo-op areas.

“We planted the tulips in November. So yeah, it was a process to get them up and going, but they’re here. Yeah at first they were so short, you know, this is new to us so we’re learning as well — as we go. But yeah, they’re all getting some height to them and looking beautiful,” said Walker Perkins, farmer with Green Acres in Milan.

They ask that you wear appropriate footwear in case of muddy conditions. Early tulips have short stems, so make decorating plans accordingly.

If you’re traveling 30 minutes or more, bring a shallow water dish to keep the flowers fresh.
