Salvation Army of Jackson holds annual volunteer appreciation dinner
JACKSON, Tenn. — A local nonprofit celebrates a year filled with significant achievements.
Earlier Thursday evening, the Salvation Army of Jackson held their annual meeting and volunteer appreciation dinner at the Old Country Store.
In the meeting, they discussed their Christmas earnings which raised more than $113-thousand dollars over the span of the entire season.
They then recognized the volunteers and community members who helped the salvation army reach their goals for the year.
“We were able to help 750 children, over 2,000 families — over 5,000 people. Some with food, some with utilities, some with rent and some with just toys and gifts,” said Major John Edmonds, commanding officer of the Salvation Army.
