Nice Weather Through Friday, Rain Returns For The Weekend
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
We have some nice weather across the region right now thanks to a high pressure system that is moving through the Southeast. When it moves off to our east, showers and storms return to the forecast. we have all the details coming up right here.
Friday:
Friday will stay dry, but thick clouds will begin building in from the south after sunrise. This cloud cover will prevent most places in West Tennessee from reaching highs above 80, but temperatures will still be expected to crest in the upper 70s. Humidity will also be much higher on Friday due to the southerly winds that will sustain around 10 MPH.
Saturday:
Futurecast is hinting at some showers through most of the day on Saturday. Showers could begin to move into West Tennessee as early as 9:00 AM and last throughout the day. Rain on Saturday should remain light, with the heaviest bands setting up over to our west in Southern Missouri. There should not be any thunder in this first system as instability looks to be low.
Sunday:
The Storm Prediction Center has outlined an area of concern for strong to severe storms on Sunday. As of Wednesday afternoon, West Tennessee has a 15% chance of seeing severe weather within 25 miles of a location. Model trends agree that all modes are possible, but the main concerns this far out appear to be damaging wind and large hail. Of course, you will be receiving updates for this system several times a day before it arrives.
Final Thoughts:
Prepare while it’s pretty. Make sure you have multiple ways to receive alerts on Sunday. We are planning on having at least two meteorologists in the Storm Team 7 Weather Center on Sunday. Make sure to download our WBBJ weather app available on iOS and Android.
