West TN Veterans Coalition holds chili, gumbo sale
JACKSON, Tenn. — One nonprofit held a special fundraiser Thursday.
The West Tennessee Veterans Coalition sold quarts of the world famous Cajun Cooker’s chili and gumbo Thursday at the West Tennessee Farmer’s Market.
This fundraiser supports the State Veteran Cemetery Bereavement Coin Program. The program provides the family of every veteran buried in a state veteran cemetery with a coin in honor of their veteran’s service.
“I’m a veteran myself with 22 years of active duty Air Force service, so I’m definitely involved with this organization and what they do and I’m absolutely proud to be a part of it and helping veterans across West Tennessee,” said Michael Douglas, volunteer with the West Tennessee Veterans Coalition.
Leaders with the West Tennessee Veterans Coalition say their mission is to provide unwavering support, resources and advocacy for veterans.
