JPD organizes relief fund for officer who lost home in storm

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Police Department takes to Facebook to express their sincere gratitude to the public for recent support.

They say they are grateful for the thoughts and prayers for officers who have experienced loss due to the recent tornadoes in McNairy County.

An account has been established for officer Daniel Vandiver, who suffered a total loss during the tornado that touched down on Wednesday night.

If you wish to contribute, donations can be made at any Cadence Bank under the “Daniel Vandiver Tornado Relief Fund.”

“There have been some scammers out there that are taking advantage of the situation like this and imitating him or his wife and I would suggest not donating through that method but if they want to make sure they do, the money gets to him and his family, they go through the Cadence Bank account,” said Gary Benton, deputy chief of police for JPD.

JPD is asking that you continue to keep officer Vandiver, their family, and everyone affected in your thoughts and prayers.
