Local road closures announced due to flooding

JACKSON, Tenn. — Multiple agencies in West Tennessee have announced road closures due to flooding. Officials remind residents that water on roads can be deeper than it appears, and it only takes a small amount to sweep a vehicle away — turn around, don’t drown.

Carroll County

On April 5, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office reported flooding on:

• Main Street near Forrest Avenue
• 2860 Hwy 436
• 3950 Clarksburg Rd
• 2720 Maytown Rd
• Brewer Rd in Lavinia, TN is closed.
• Spring Creek Rd, Pond Branch Rd, McKee Levee Rd
• Mayo Bottom SR-22 between Huntingdon and McKenzie on the McKenzie side.
• Sink Hole on SR 423 between SR 76 and SR 22 in McKenzie
• 9173 Highway 104
• 1170 Humpherys Road
• Brier Creek just off Baker Road
• Old Bruceton Road
• Round House Road @ Bruceton Vale Road
• John’s Creek Near 220
• Buena Vist @ Mt Zion Road
• Westport Road several areas

Dyer County

As of April 6, the following roads are closed in Dyersburg, TN.

• Horner Road to South Main Avenue
• Williams Street to Horner Road
• Atkins Street
• Laird Street
• A portion of Cedar Street near the Dyer County Jail
• Samaria Bend Road to South Main Street
• Forshee Street closed from Horner Road to Hodge Avenue
• South Main Street from Christie Street to Samaria Bend Road
• Davis Drive from Highway 51 Bypass to South Main Street
• Brooks Avenue from Garland Street to Atkins Street
• Friendship Road from Wilson Drive to South Main Street
• South Main Street from Highway 51 Bypass to Christie Street
• All side roads from McDearmon Street to Forshee street closed (Horner, Evans, Brigance & Holden)

Gibson County

• Middle Road bridge at the rail road tracks near E. Van Hook

Haywood County

The Haywood County Sheriff’s Office has announced these closures due to flooding.

The Haywood County Sheriff’s Office encourages caution on these roads:

Henry County

• Franklin Drive has some flooding
• West Blythe and Porter Street

Sheriff Frey also says a few other roads are showing signs of flooding as well, so be cautious.

• Riverside Drive – from the Jackson city limits to D Street
• Sanders Bluff is closed west of the park
• Westover Road – from Old Denmark Road to the Highway 45 Bypass
• Westover at Airways
• West University Pkwys at Hastings
• Most of Perry Switch Road is closed at this time
• Old Humboldt at Augusta
• Old Medina – from Bakers Chapel to Barnes Road

MCSO says these closures are temporary, and they will continue to monitor and update as conditions change.

Additionally, these road closures have been announced for Jackson:

• Chester Levee
• N Parkway/Sweetbay Dr
• Catalina and Ingram off of Campbell St.

• S Red McCorkle
• Ferrell Rd

Community members also reported these roads with severe flooding:

Marshall Kirk Rd in Troy from B Hutchinson Rd to Possum Trot

Weakley County

As of April 5, 2025:

The Milan Police Department has reported the following closures due to flooding:

• Middle Road bridge at the tracks.
• McAllister Street is closed temporarily near E Van Hook due to flooding.
