Recovery efforts continue in Hardeman County

GRAND JUNCTION, Tenn. — With good weather finally making an appearance, recovery efforts continue in Hardeman County.

We spoke to Mayor Curtis Lane of Grand Junction who shared that Bolivar Energy Authority is making power restorations along with several contractors.

Mayor Lane states that most customers have power back but there are still a lot of isolated situations where customers don’t have power yet.

There is still a boil water advisory in Grand Junction but water pressure is back up.

Several volunteer organizations have been bringing in supplies — some from as far away as South Carolina.

“Every municipality here in Hardeman County has been helping with this restoration effort. Especially, I mean, as you can see, the Hardeman County Sheriff’s department, the Tennessee State Troopers, the other municipalities, Bolivar, Whiteville, everybody’s pitching in. That’s the way we work,” said Mayor Lane.

Mayor Lane shares that more tan 170 structures are damaged which means there’s a lot more work ahead. The focus right now is clearing tree debris. Supplies are currently being gathered at the Methodist Church in Grand Junction.
