Milan Middle goes blue for Child Abuse Prevention Month
MILAN, Tenn. — “Wear Blue” is a statewide awareness campaign that takes place every April.
This month is Child Abuse Prevention Month, and wearing blue is a way to show support for preventing child abuse and neglect.
It’s an act of solidarity that raises awareness, encourages conversations about child safety, and reminds everyone that protecting children is a shared responsibility.
Wear Blue Day is a designated day within the month, often the first Friday, where people are encouraged to wear blue clothing or accessories to show their support.
Friday, the students and staff at Milan Middle School wore blue to support the cause.
“We continue to do this year-in, year-out, and also if you check out our Milan Middle School Facebook page at the end of the day you’ll see pictures of all the kids and pictures of them wearing blue, and just showing the support that not only our school has, but our community,” said Chris Jones, principal at Milan Middle School.
You can use hashtags like #wearblueday, #childabusepreventionmonth, and #protectourchildren to share your photos and messages.
