On Friday, April 11th, Talbott was arrested and charged with Domestic Assault, False Imprisonment, and Vandalism. He was booked into the Chester County Jail and released on a $2,500 bond.
According to the arrest affidavit, a domestic disturbance between Talbott and his wife, Jessica, started when his wife says Talbott was intoxicated. “Jessica advised on the evening of Friday, March 7, 2025, Eric was extremely intoxicated, and accused her of having an affair.” His wife said Eric became angry and started throwing dishes, and other items, in her direction, causing them to break.
Jessica informed law enforcement, according to the affidavit, she did not believe he was trying to hurt her with the items.
According to the affidavit, “Jessica advised she told Eric if he was going to act like that, she was leaving. Jessica advised Eric then punched her in the face with his fist, then grabbed her, and flung her into the wall. Jessica advised she ran down the hallway trying to get away from him, and Eric ran after her.”
Jessica told law enforcement that Eric caught her in the hallway and threw her against the wall again. She said he then punched the doors going into the bedroom and bathroom and caused holes in them.
“Jessica advised there is a door in the bedroom that leads outside. Jessica advised she ran into the bathroom and was able to get outside trying to escape from Eric. Jessica advised Eric ran after her, grabbed her, and physically drug her back into the house while telling her she was not going anywhere, and that he was not going to let her leave.”
Jessica told officers she was able to eventually get outside to her vehicle while Eric continued to try and stop her from leaving and “told her he would rip the doors off her vehicle before he would let her leave.”
According to the affidavit, Jessica told officers she was eventually able to leave and went to her parents’ house to stay for the night. She told law enforcement she was not injured and no visible injuries were observed by law enforcement.”
Eric Talbott resigned from the Chester County Sheriff Office on Friday, April 11th.
