Warm & Humid Weather this Weekend, Storm Chances Easter Evening/Night

WBBJ 7 Forecast Update

WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:

It has been a breezy day but those southerly winds have warmed us up to around 80° today across West Tennessee. The humidity will be increasing as we wrap up the work week and head into the weekend. Storms will look to stay just to the west of us on Friday and Saturday, but not for Easter. As of now, we are not expecting any storms for most of us until Sunday evening, so any early day plans on Easter should be good to go. Catch the latest on the storm threat as well as the rest of your Easter weekend forecast coming up here.

THIS WEEK:

The next warm up came in on Thursday. Highs reached up to around 80° for most of us. The reason we warmed up was due to the southerly winds with plenty of sunshine as well. We were dry on Thursday but the humidity increased into the evening and will get thicker overnight. The more humid air will allow overnight temperatures to only drop down to the low to mid 60s to kick off our Friday. We are expecting more clouds on Friday but it will again be a warm and humid day. There could be a few showers late Friday in our Northwest counties, but we are expecting most if not all of them to stay to the northwest of West Tennessee. Highs on Friday will reach the low to mid 80s and Friday night lows will be warm as well falling down into the mid 60s. The winds on Friday will stay out of the south.

EASTER WEEKEND:

Southerly winds are expected to hang around all weekend long and that will keep the temperatures and humidity up as well. The warm and humid air, in combination with an approaching storm system, will look to bring some stronger storms and potential severe weather back to the Mid South this weekend. The most likely time to be impacted with severe storms as of now looks to be late in the day on Easter. The timing and severity of the event will likely change some and we will have updates for you multiple times a day this week as the weekend gets closer.

Highs on Saturday will reach the low 80s and expect mostly cloudy skies. There could be some late showers on Saturday near the Mississippi River, but that all depends on where the warm front section of the system sets up. Saturday night will be warm with Easter morning lows starting in the low to mid 60s. Expect more clouds than sun on Saturday and mostly cloudy skies on Easter. Highs on Easter will reach the low 80s before falling down to the low the mid 60s by Monday morning.
