Crockett County Sheriff’s Dept responds to shooting
UPDATE (4/23/25): Fatal shooting in Crockett County ruled self defense
CROCKETT COUNTY, Tenn. – The Crockett County Sheriff’s Department is actively investigating a reported shooting that occurred at a residence on the 6000 block of Chestnut Bluff-Maury City Road.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers confirmed a male was deceased and are currently conducting a comprehensive death investigation. The Crockett County Medical Examiner’s Office was called to the scene and an autopsy has been ordered.
In recognition of the complexities involved in this case, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has been called in to assist with the ongoing investigation. Details are still emerging, and the area has been secured as law enforcement officers work diligently to gather information and evidence.
This appears to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.
