Abner Utley Taylor IV
Ab was a man for all seasons. He had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. He loved dogs (especially Isabella), music, good food, history and people, far and wide. He made an indelible mark with all he knew and everything he touched. He celebrated life and always saw the best in people. He truly lit up a room with his deep voice and smile. Ab, son of Elizabeth and the late Ab Taylor III, was born and reared in Jackson, TN. He was educated in Episcopal Day School and graduated from Jackson High School. He attended Rhoades College and went on to graduate from Auburn with a degree in International Business.
“Little Ab” as he was fondly know around town, was a civil war enthusiast and had a magnificent collection of rare civil war figurines. His athletic pursuits included competitive tennis beginning at a young age, football, snow skiing and golf. He was an Eagle Scout. After graduating from college, he spent some time in Vail, Colorado, and went on to travel in Europe (his favorite place being Monte Carlo). Having his mom meet him in London was the highlight of his adventure. He then pursued an investment career before returning to Jackson to work in the family business, City Lumber. This led to him founding a special niche in the building business, Construction Services Group and Architectural Window Solutions. He was very successful and a huge contributor to various charities, always anonymously. Ab loved finding ways to help others. He was very perceptive in recognizing their needs, whether it be in finances, training, or mentoring.
The proudest accomplishments in his life were his three boys. He had recently enjoyed spending time skiing with them in Crested Butte, Colorado and seeing the young men thriving in college.
Ab reconnected with Nikol whom he first met in Vail after college over 30 years ago. They spent two years building a relationship over long distance. The Lord led them to a special marriage on January 1, 2024.
He is survived by his wife Nikol, and his three children Abner, Winford and Luke Taylor, mother Elizabeth Magee Taylor, his brother Mark Taylor and sister Courtney and Jeff Ball as well as the ”white wolf” Isabella and Winston” the terrorist”. His special nieces and nephews are Sydney Ball, Taylor and Macy Ball, Courtney and Ben Starkey, John Caleb and Camryn Ball, Will Taylor and Anna Taylor.
