Local church raises money for St. Jude with annual ‘Trike-A-Thon’
JACKSON, Tenn. — A local church is helping raise money for children battling life-threatening illnesses.
First Presbyterian Church located at 1573 North Highland Avenue in Jackson hosted a “Trike-A-Thon” benefitting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
At the event, children are able to ride tricycles around the parking lot, learning rules of the road for around 30 minutes to help in the fight against childhood cancers.
The St. Jude Trike-A-Thon is a fun and educational way to teach children to make a difference for other children battling life-threatening diseases.
“There are no registration fees. Children and families are encouraged to enroll online and fundraise, and this year we raised a little over $1,600 for St. Jude. We do this every year and we do it with our Monday-Wednesday-Friday class and our Tuesday-Thursday class so all of our students participate,” said Stephanie Swims, director for First Presbyterian Playschool.
The event will be taking place again on Friday from 10:20-11 a.m.
