USJ holds special celebration honoring Grandparents’ Day

JACKSON, Tenn. — Spring is here, and for the University School of Jackson, one of the highlights of the season is Grandparents’ Day.

It’s an event that’s dedicated to honoring and appreciating the role grandparents play in the lives of children.

“We all know that we are who we are because of those who came before, and those who have poured their lives into ours,” said Don Roe, USJ’s Head of School. “Our grandparents are so special. My grandparents were special to me, and we are honored to have them on campus today.”

Friday, grandparents and special friends were invited to spend the day. Grandparents were able to tour the building, visit classrooms, and stop by the book fair.

Other activities included meeting teachers, and some even got the chance to play!

“It’s great for the grandparents because they want to be involved,” Roe said. “They want to see that these kids are safe and that they are engaged, and that they are loved; and that is exactly what is happening here at USJ every day.”

Refreshments were provided and students were able to leave with their grandparents at the end of the day.
