Ribbon cutting held for ‘Polly’s Playground’ in Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. — A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Monday to celebrate the completion of Polly’s Playground at the Exchange Club-Carl Perkins Center!

It is a newly designed outdoor space dedicated to the teens served by the center in Madison County.

Polly’s Playground is the result of the community-driven effort spearheaded by the leadership Jackson class of 2024 “Dragons” group, who selected the project as their group’s initiative.

“It was a playground that had rotted over the years and it just had not been well taken care of. We saw that need and we have turned it into a beautiful getaway for these kids that have to have critical therapies that they need, and so that’s what we did as a group. Today, as we get to see that come to fruition, we couldn’t have done that without a lot of our sponsors,” said Madelyn Hefner, events and marketing manager for the Carl Perkins Center.

Major contributions came from Madison County Master Gardeners, Morris Nursery, Love and Truth Church, and a host of generous donors and volunteers who gave their time, resources and expertise.
