Hardeman County Schools announces partnership
MIDDLETON, Tenn. — A big announcement took place Tuesday at Middleton High School.
Hardeman County Schools announced a culinary articulation agreement between the University of Memphis, TCAT at Jackson, and Hardeman County Schools.
The program allows students to start culinary programs in high school, earn additional TCAT hours during their high school years, and then transfer those hours into the University of Memphis for college credit or for industry certification.
“Basically we’re giving them opportunities to utilize skills that they can go straight to the workforce and earn college credits or go on and earn a bachelor’s degree from the University of Memphis,” said Christy Smith, Hardeman County Director of Schools.
This is the 3rd year of the program which is experiencing exponential growth. Currently, the program is full and multiple students are wait-listed.
