Jackson-Madison County NAACP preps for annual Freedom Fund Banquet

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson-Madison County NAACP branch is getting ready to celebrate its 2025 Freedom Fund Banquet on May 25.

They held a news conference earlier Tuesday announcing the guest keynote speakers for the banquet.

This event is important for the NAACP, because it’s a cornerstone for community empowerment and a celebration of achievements in the civil rights and social justice area.

“We’re excited because such a time is this is going to require us together. This means Black, white, Asian, Native American, we have all of those people that we are needing to come together and lets start a conversation,” said Harrel Carter, president of the Jackson-Madison County NAACP.

The NAACP is the nation’s 39th leading civil rights organization and has championed civil rights for the past 115 years.
