Local college presidents to feature in ‘Burning Questions’ event
JACKSON, Tenn. — One local event based on the YouTube show “Hot Ones” is back by popular demand.
This year, it features local university presidents as they answer random questions while eating increasingly hot chicken wings.
Hot Ones has been around for a decade, and now, a similar version of it is coming to West Tennessee in the “Emerging Leaders” event organized by the Greater Jackson Chamber and co-hosted by United Way of West Tennessee.
The college presidents edition of Burning Questions will take place on Tuesday, May 6 at the Jackson Regional Airport hangar. Four local college presidents will answer random questions while eating increasingly hot chicken wings.
“Our presidents panel is Dr. Jacquene Eainey; she’s with TCAT Jackson. Dr. Dub Oliver with Union University, Dr. Carol A. Rothstein; she’s with Jackson State Community College, and Dr. Yancy Freeman with UT Martin. So, these guys are going to be in the hot seat,” said Cassandra Fuller, vice president of events and marketing for the Greater Jackson Chamber.
Emerging leaders is for individuals ages 22 to 35 who are early on in their career.
“The goal is to get our young professionals involved; expose them to some of the programs in the chamber and expose them to other professionals,” said Fuller.
Previous events have been limited to chamber members only, but what’s unique about this event is it’s open to the public.
Tickets are $25 for chamber members and $35 for non-members. For more information or to purchase tickets, click here.
