JACKSON, Tenn. — West Tennessee Legal Services and the Jackson-Madison County Bar Association held their annual Jackson Law Day celebration earlier Friday.
The event was held this afternoon at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Speakers included Justice Mary Wagner, Magistrate Judge Jon York, and Judge Kyle Atkins.
The judges spoke on a panel about this year’s theme, “The Constitution’s Promise: Out of Many, One.”
“The constitution is a document that unites us as a people and so it’s important for every nook and cranny of the world, whether in the big city or in the small town, to understand that this is the document in which establishes the principles in which we all are fundamentally working with,” said Matthew Flood, president of the Jackson-Madison County Bar Association.
Law Day is held annually on May 1 as a national day to celebrate the rule of law.
