Doctor talks menopause treatments amid Women’s Health Month

JACKSON, Tenn. — May is celebrated for many reasons: the start of spring, Easter, Mother’s Day. But it’s also Women’s Health Month.

Doctors are talking about why women should take time to focus more on their own personal health and needs — not only this month, but in the long-term.

According to the U.S. Department of Health, heart disease and breast cancer are top health issues women face.

Hormone expert Dr. Lareesa Ferdinand shares information about a few unique products that are available to promote better health outcomes for women, including how to help manage menopause.

“Menopause is a hot topic right now, and there are different things out there,” Dr. Ferdinand said. “Today, I want to mention Cyclease menopause by Boiron. It’s a hormone-free, soy-free, homeopathic medicine that relieves several symptoms of menopause and perimenopause. This includes your hot flashes, your night sweats, mood changes and occasional sleeplessness and facial flushing.”

Each woman experiences menopause and peri-menopause differently. Timing, duration, and severity of symptoms could vary.
