Scattered Storms Possible Tonight, Temperatures Trending Cooler Next Week
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
After a warm and wet end to the work week in West Tennessee, we have one more chance at some spotty showers and a stray thunderstorm. Temperatures are trending lower for the region for for the coming week as well. We have all the details coming up right here.
Tonight:
Cloud cover will remain in place across the area. Some of the clouds could catch a pocket of instability and may turn into a stray shower or thunderstorm or shower. The best chance for this is between 7 P.M. – 9 P.M. We have already seen some popping up north of I-40, but there is still some moisture off to our west that could move into the area. Anything that pops today will stay well below severe limits.
Sunday:
Sunday will be very similar to today. Patches of clouds moving through the area with a chance for a shower or two to pop across the region. Temperatures will be much cooler, so less energy will be available. This means the chance of a thunderstorm is extremely low. Patchy showers could begin to pop after 3:00 Sunday afternoon.
Next Week:
Showers will stay away from West Tennessee until Tuesday night as the upper air pattern will be hostile to anything other than mostly clear skies. On Tuesday night, however, showers and a possible thunderstorm return overnight. Right now the chances are around 50%. Spotty showers will be possible for the remainder of the work week, but temperatures will be trending downward starting next Saturday.
