Derby Watch Party held at Elk’s Lodge #192
JACKSON, Tenn.—A local organization celebrates Kentucky Derby style with a festive event.
The Elk Lodge #192 hosts a Derby Watch Party.
The event took place at 5 pm Saturday at the lodge located at 28 Executive Drive in Jackson.
The event includes an Elk Derby with some activities mimicking that of the true derby experience. Members could buy a pretend horse at auction, name and jockey a horse, and even win or lose at the big race.
“The horses move as we roll the dice, so the number that’s on the dice actually corresponds with the number that’s on the horse. That horse will move one spot up until you become a winner,” said Flipper Burks, member, Elks Lodge #192.
Elk Lodge #192 hosts monthly member events throughout the year. The next event scheduled is MixTape Music Bingo on May 8.
