Roan’s Creek Church celebrates 200 years of service

YUMA, Tenn.—A long standing church is celebrating a huge milestone.

Roan’s Creek Church of Christ in Carroll County begins its 200 year anniversary celebration. The church was originally founded back in July of 1825.

Sunday’s service included special messages from Michael Young, Nick Jones, and songs led by Daniel Moore.

After the service, the congregation was invited to join in fellowship together over a delicious meal.

We spoke with one of the longtime church members about what this anniversary means to the congregation.

“We’ve been through good times and bad. At one time, we were down to about 26 people and we’ve been as high as 100. Right now we average about 72 but we’re still a thriving church,” said Ralph Rush, church elder, Roan’s Creek Church of Christ.

Roan’s Creek will continue to honor its anniversary with various services running through Wednesday, May 7.
