Showers & Storm Chances Back Tonight, Linger the Rest of the Week
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
A system producing heavy rain in Mississippi tonight will try to bring a little bit our way, mostly in our southern counties tonight. The majority of the rain is struggling to reach the ground here in West TN, but a few light showers or sprinkles are possible tonight. There will be more chances for rain on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday but chances look to be lower for as we head into the weekend. Catch a brand new forecast model looking at the weather for both Thursday and Friday mornings in Humboldt coming up right here.

THIS WEEK:
After dealing with the clouds, a northerly breeze and spotty showers all weekend, we finally got a break into the day on Tuesday, but it was short lived as the clouds and rain chances moved back in Tuesday evening/night. A low pressure system in Texas and a cold front moving in from the Rockies will get closer tonight and slowly push that stubborn low off to the east of us. An area of high pressure in-between moved in Tuesday clearing out the skies some and the winds were calm on Tuesday. We saw mostly sunny skies for the first half of the day on Tuesday and were dry during the day. Highs reached the mid to upper 70s across the region. Tuesday night under more cloud cover, will keep overnight lows in the upper 50s.

Rain chances will return late Tuesday night and stick around at times during the day on Wednesday. Not everyone is going to see rain on Wednesday as the showers are expected to be scattered. Storm chances are low and we are not expecting anything to become severe with this next system here in West Tennessee. Chances for rain from Tuesday night into Thursday morning are 60% across the region. Highs on Wednesday will only reach the low 70s under the mostly cloudy skies and the light breeze out of the east. Wednesday night lows will fall down again to the upper 50s.

We could see a few showers on Thursday with chances for rain at 30% as of now. Although a few showers could impact the Junior Parade in the morning (10AM start time) in Humboldt for the strawberry festival, do not be concerned enough to not go. Just grab an umbrella just in case and monitor the forecast over the next couple of days before the event. Highs on Thursday will reach the mid 70s with partly to mostly cloudy skies. The winds will come out of the northeast and be light for most of the day. Thursday night lows will again fall down to the mid to upper 50s.

There could be a few showers on Friday but overall we are expecting a dry day and dry weather for the main parade on Friday morning in Humboldt. Chances for rain on Friday are 20% so they cannot be ruled out. We will see partly cloudy skies on Friday with a light breeze remaining out of the northeast. Highs on Friday will reach the mid 70s again and Friday night lows will be a bit cooler with less clouds as we head into the weekend. We will kick off our Saturday around 50°.

THE WEEKEND:
There is going to be another stalled out low pressure system this weekend, but unlike last weekend, this one is likely going to set up to the south of us. This will keep a few showers chances around with most of them being in our southern counties next to the Mississippi border. If the system drifts a bit further north than we are currently thinking we could see a few weekend showers as well. But as of now, chances for rain for each weekend day are at 20%. We should see partly cloudy skies this weekend too with more clouds being down south than up north. The winds this weekend will vary in direction around the low but will most likely come out of the northeast. The northeast will keep temperatures below 80° for most of us. Highs on Saturday are forecast in the mid 70s and Sunday in the upper 70s. Morning lows this weekend will stick around in the low to mid 50s. We should warm up a bit as we kick off next week as well.
