Union University shares an update regarding the roof that collapsed in April. ServiceMaster by Cornerstone and Elite Contractors have worked together to making improvements to the Penick Academic Complex.

ServiceMaster by Cornerstone was on the site shortly after the roof collapsed removing items and water. Union University reports that heavy rains caused damage in classrooms, office space and the gymnasium floors.

However, improvements will be made quickly.

“We worked with the contents, worked with the school to ensure that the things that they’re needing to get back in other classrooms — to get the semester going — as well as try to stay ahead of what’s going on for the summer and going into the school year. The school is estimating now at the end of June will be a time for them to reopen,” said Tyler Pattat, president of ServiceMaster by Cornerstone.

Union University’s president says that there were no injuries from students or workers during the time of the collapse.
