UPDATE: Arrest made in 2024 death investigation of Christine Joan Lawrence

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE MADISON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE:

Madison County, TN – After an extensive and thorough investigation, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office  has arrested Shannon Danika Rowe for the first-degree murder of Christine Joan Lawrence.

Ms. Lawrence  was found deceased in a ditch off St. Johns Road in western Madison County on August 6, 2024.

Rowe has been formally charged with First Degree Murder (TCA § 39-13-202) and was taken into custody  without incident. She was transported to the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex, where she will  be held pending her first court appearance and further legal proceedings. 

This arrest marks a major breakthrough in a complex case that has remained a top priority for the Madison  County Sheriff’s Office. Madison County Investigators within the Criminal Investigations Division, along  with the Madison County Task Force Officer assigned to the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, the FBI Jackson  Resident Agency, and the Jackson Police Department, played a critical role in advancing this case. Their  collective efforts, expertise, and unwavering commitment were instrumental in bringing the investigation  to a successful resolution. 

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office extends its sincere appreciation to these agencies and individuals for  their outstanding cooperation and dedication to justice in solving this case.
