Hub City Wrestling to host benefit event for storm victims
SELMER, Tenn. — Following the aftermath of the devastating tornado that recently destroyed parts of our region, Hub City Wrestling is stepping into the the ring for a cause greater than a championship belt.
The organization is hosting a donation-based event this Saturday, May 10, at the Selmer Community Center, with all proceeds going directly to support families and individuals affected by the disaster.
“Rocking the Rebuild” will feature action-packed matches, special guest appearances — including former WWE superstar Heath Slater — Danny Dollar, Jack Passion and Logan Blake, among others.
There will also be opportunities for fans to contribute to recovery efforts through donations, raffles and merchandise sales.
“A WWE spinner belt that was made famous by John Cena. A smoking skull title, which is significant with ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, and a big gold title, which is significant with Ric Flair,” said Hub City Wrestling Owner William Hatton. “Come cheer for Logan, come cheer for Jack. Come do everything that you want to do, let out all of your emotions and enjoy the night of your life because this will be the biggest event that we do all year long.”
The Selmer Community Center is located at 230 North 5th Street. Doors will open at 6 p.m., with bell time beginning at 7:30 that evening.
All proceeds from the door go to the Jesus Cares account set up by the Town of Selmer and McNairy County, ensuring immediate support for those who have to rebuild their homes and lives.
