Madison County Surpasses 100,000 Residents, Marking a Historic Milestone
Jackson, TN – Madison County has officially surpassed 100,000 residents for the first time in its history. According to the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2024 population estimates (recently released), the county reached a population of 100,409 as of July 1, 2024. This milestone highlights a trend of steady growth and reinforces the county’s position as a dynamic and desirable place to live and work in West Tennessee.
“This is a significant milestone for Madison County,” said County Mayor AJ Massey. “Crossing the 100,000-resident threshold is a testament to our community’s resilience, economic vitality, and the quality of life we offer. It reflects years of strategic planning and collaboration among our residents, businesses, and local government.”
Key drivers of Madison County’s growth include expanding healthcare and manufacturing sectors, high-quality education options, and its regional role as a hub for commerce and culture. According to the Tennessee Comptroller’s Office, the county shows healthy economic indicators, including steady job growth and investment in public infrastructure.
Demographic data from public sources reveals:
- A median household income nearing $60,000
- Over 90% of adults with a high school diploma
- Approximately 26% of residents with a bachelor’s degree or higher
- A homeownership rate of over 62%
