Marine Corps League hosts 10th annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Cookout

JACKSON, Tenn. — An annual event returns to show appreciation for local law enforcement.

The Marine Corps League held a Law Enforcement Appreciation Cookout Friday at the law enforcement complex for the Jackson Police Department.

Marine Corps League members were cooking hamburgers and hot dogs for more than 150 officers from multiple law enforcement agencies across West Tennessee.

Captain Jack Holland with the Marine Corps League Detachment 735 put this cookout together.

“We come out here, we grill out for law enforcement officers, just a way to say ‘thank you’ for them — what they do for the community. Most of us are honorably discharged Marine Corps Veterans. Just a way for us to come out here and say ‘Thanks for protecting the streets and keeping our communities safe every year.’ We really appreciate them,” said Captain Holland.

This is the 10th year of this event.
