A Mostly Dry Saturday Ahead, A Few Spotty Showers Mother’s Day
Saturday Morning Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
Another mostly dry day ahead for our Saturday. Some spotty showers will try to move back in late Saturday and mainly south of I-40. Spotty showers will move further northward on Mother’s day but odds look to be only around 40% and any showers or weak storms will not last long.
Here is a look at our forecast for our Saturday ahead.
Rain looks likely to kick off next week but there is also a shot to get up to around 90° next week as well. Catch the full forecast coming up here.
THE WEEKEND:
There is going to be another stalled out low pressure system this weekend, but unlike last weekend, this one is likely going to set up to the south of us. This will keep a few showers chances around with most of them being in our southern counties next to the Mississippi border. As the system drifts a bit to the east and north as the weekend goes on, we will see a few weekend showers as well. But as of now, chances for rain on Saturday are 20% late in the day and Sunday is 40% during the day. Severe weather or strong storms are NOT in the forecast this weekend. We should see partly to mostly cloudy skies this weekend too with more clouds being down south than up north.
The winds this weekend will vary in direction around the low but will most likely come out of the northeast on Saturday and out of the east on Sunday. The easterly winds will keep temperatures below 80° for all of us. Highs on Saturday are forecast in the low 70s and Sunday in the mid 70s. Morning lows this weekend will stick around in the mid 50s. We should warm up a bit as we kick off next week as well. There is a chance we reach the upper 80s and back up to near 90° in the middle of next week!
NEXT WEEK:
Rain showers look likely on Monday and although there could be a weak storm or two, we are not expecting severe weather or anything significant. The rain showers will linger into the day on Tuesday but will clear out towards the back half of the day ushering a couple dry days as we get going into the middle and end of the next work week. Highs on Monday will be in the mid 70s, but expected upper 70s on Tuesday. The clouds will stick around for the first half of the week but before breaking up some on Wednesday. Morning lows will linger around 60° for the first half of the week.
We are going to warm up nicely in Wednesday and stay warm through Friday. Highs will at least reach the mid 80s but some upper 80s to near 90° will also be possible on Thursday and Friday. Expect more sun that clouds on Wednesday and Thursday and dry weather for both those days. There could be a few showers returning on Friday late next week but there is not a lot of confidence in the forecast that far out right now. Morning lows will fall down to round 70° Thursday morning and low 70s on Friday morning as the heat and humidity will be digging in by the back half of the work week.
