Early voting comes to a close in Bolivar

BOLIVAR, Tenn. — Thursday was the final day of early voting in Bolivar for the city elections.

Early voting began April 30. The Bolivar city mayor and several city council positions are on the ballot with most candidates running unopposed.

City Mayor Julian McTizic and council members Melvin Golden, Tommie Woods, and Suzanne Rhea are running unopposed. The only contested position is for city council seat District B Position 4.

Candidates for that seat are Michael Brown and Gwenda Woods. The election is coming up on May 20.
