Vehicles roll into National Mall for ‘Celebration of Construction’ event

JACKSON, Tenn. — Over the next decade, it’s predicted that there will be a shortage of 1.9 million people in the manufacturing industry.

That’s according to experts with the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM).

May 14-16, heavy construction vehicles are rolling into the National Mall during the “Celebration of Construction” event.

The events highlights the construction workforce industry.

Experts say if you are looking for a new career, construction jobs offer benefits and salaries that are 33% above the national average.

“We train and educate people on the skills that they might need,” said Megan Tanel, President & CEO of AEM. “So if you are graduating high school or graduating college, you have got an opportunity within this industry.”

The Celebration of Construction on the National Mall is held every two years.
