FBI and CSX Police to take lead in train robbery

The Crockett County Sheriff’s Department releases an update to the train robbery and search being conducted in Gadsden.

Thank you to Alamo, Bells, Gadsden, and Humboldt Police Departments along with the THP for your assistance. At this time, the investigation is ongoing and no one is in custody. The FBI and CSX Police have primary jurisdiction and will become the lead investigative agencies into this matter.

Police on lookout after suspects steal from train, ‘large amount of televisions’ among goods taken

GADSDEN, Tenn. — The Crockett County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with multiple law enforcement agencies, is currently conducting a search in the rural Gadsden area near Tom Dunlap Road.

There is a significant law enforcement presence in this region due to a recent theft off a CSX train that includes a large amount of televisions.

Motorists are advised to avoid this area to ensure the safety of all individuals and to allow law enforcement officers to carry out their duties effectively.

Residents in the vicinity are encouraged to lock their doors, secure their vehicles, and remain vigilant. If you notice any suspicious activity, particularly if you observe one or more individuals matching the description of Hispanic males wearing all black, please do not hesitate to contact 911 immediately with the exact location.
