Henderson County Senior Health Fair provides essential resources to residents
LEXINGTON, Tenn. — One county hosts a healthcare event for the seniors in their community.
Henderson County hosted a senior community health fair focused on providing essential resources, healthcare screenings and local support for residents ages 65 and older, as well as caregivers, family members and community advocates.
The hopes of the event was to bring together multiple local vendors, medical professionals, and support organizations in one location to inform and empower our senior population.
“One of the reasons why its located here today is because a lot of times our seniors don’t realize we have a local senior center,” said Jaleesa Mason, account executive and clinical liaison for Arden Hospice.
“We have classes for caregivers to these individuals, you know, that need these services. How do I take care of my mom, my dad or my aunt, that is experiencing these things?” said Melindee Buckley, director for Henderson County Senior Center.
Organizers say their goal is to make sure every senior in our area knows their healthcare options and feels supported.
