Annual ‘Bowls for the Hungry’ fundraiser helps feed local families

JACKSON, Tenn. — One in five children in the Jackson-Madison County area go home without enough food. An upcoming event is on the mission to change that.

The 3rd annual ‘Bowls for the Hungry’ fundraiser event is set for Saturday, July 19.

Bowls created by local artists and nonprofits will be auctioned off to raise funds to help feed local families in need.

The event includes dinner, live music and nonprofit speakers, so come celebrate for a good cause.

“This is just one way that those who have the time and the resources, and the creativity, to make these incredible bowls can help our neighbor and that’s really what it’s all about is to come beside one another, help each other and just really support our community that we love so much,” said Allyssa Miller, ceramics instructor.

Participating nonprofits include The Dream Center, Area Relief Ministries, The Place of Jackson, RIFA and more.
